Sharon LeGree-Ferguson

First Lady

Mentor and vessel of grace are the characteristics of this dynamic Woman of God. These are some of the terms that adequately and appropriately describe Sharon LeGree Ferguson, Leading Lady of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. As the wife of Rev. Dr. Louis L. Ferguson she has been an outstanding help mate for 35 years, presenting an excellent example of what being an authentic god-fearing woman is all about.

Lady Ferguson is the oldest of 5 children and is a native of Savannah, Georgia, arriving in Atlanta in 1978 to attend Morris Brown College. Lady Ferguson later embarked upon a career as a paralegal; this has been her profession for the past 35 years.

She and Pastor Ferguson are the proud parents of two adult children, Sharaye Smith, and Louis II. They are also the glowing and doting grandparents of Sean and Madison Smith.

In addition to managing her career, supporting her family and serving as the church’s Leading Lady, Sis Ferguson is also quite involved in activities that exemplify her commitment to the body of Christ as a Leading Lady. Specifically, she serves as President of the Atlanta Chapter of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widow Association. She is also the President of the Women’s Ministry and has initiated several events here at Greater Friendship with the latest being the “Period Project.”

Lady Ferguson’s other interests include staying abreast of health and fitness issues, sewing, reading, women’s challenges, and mentoring young women. She is currently attending Georgia State University to obtain a degree in sociology and is the proud owner of Bow Knotties, LLC in which she makes handcrafted neckwear and accessories.
